I miss my dog. :( Adios! Keep pencils on hand.

Complaints of a Youngest Child
You know, I really am down with this whole being the younger sister thing. There's a big enough gap between me and my older sister that I've never had to go through all the fighting and siblingy stuff. By the time I was in second grade she was heading off to college. I got all her old toys (which I thought were awesome), got to hang around her cool older friends when she was at home (even though she hardly ever liked having me there), and when it came time for hand me downs I was too big to fit into a lot of her old clothes (what can I say, I was in the 90 percentile for height for a long time!) Heck, even my spot at the dinner table is pretty nice!
However, the one thing that I've never appreciated is the car hierarchy. Whenever my mom, sister, and I ever go anywhere she's the one that gets the front seat and I'm demoted to the back. Of course,w when my comes along Mom takes the front seat and we both are in the back. The point is, there's no shot gun to be called. It's just car law. I don't mind being in the back seat. To tell the truth I spend most time in the car totally zoned out looking out the window. But I, being still a month away from license age, have spent the most time with my butt in that front seat. I believe I have a claim to that seat. Though I'm sure my sister could always counter with the, "Well, I was sitting in the front seat before you were born!" True, but not in this car car you haven't. Any other youngest children out there agree? I'm off to go watch more Olympics. Adios! Pens are for writing, not for noses.

Opening Ceremonies...
Was I the only one very confused by certain parts of the Opening Ceremonies last night? I mean, they were awesome and everything but I sat there with my family going, "What in the world is going on here?!" I really liked the choreography for the lords walking around looking at the smoke stacks rising up during the industrial revolution part. There was one lord that was incredibly bendy! When they leaned back to look up at one of the stacks he was practically doing a back bend! I guess that's what happens when you get stuck in the back of the pack.
And then they brought out Lord Voldemort. Beijing had awesomely choreographed drummers and stuff. London had Voldemort fighting Mary Poppins. Not to say that a 100 foot tall Voldemort isn't impressive but for the opening ceremonies? And the creepy baby at the end of the dreams part?! I liked that the NBC commentators even said something about that being creepy. I want one of those light up blankets they had on the beds. Who needs a bedside lamp, I have a light up blanket!
Overall, we had fun watching the opening ceremonies last night. Greatly enjoyed Hey Jude, though I thought Paul McCartney should've done a royalty only verse. Just saying. So far today I've watched table tennis, soccer/football (why do we call it soccer when everyone else in the world calls it football?), archery, badmiton, a little basketball, and two types of volleyball so I think today has been a fairly successful viewing day so far. Have I ever mentioned how much I love the Olympics? Adios! Remotes should never be more than three feet away from you.

I'm sorry, I had to. (:

Olympics!!
Guess who's freaking stoked for opening ceremonies tonight! I love the Olympics so much, I really do. I had a dream last night that I go to go to London to see them but somehow ended up waitressing (badly) at some random restaurant. Go figure. Anywho, I wanted to make some kind of fun desserty things to celebrate but seeing as we have no ingredients/I couldn't eat them easily I abandoned that idea. Perhaps I'll have a closing ceremonies party. At any rate here is a picture of something I was hoping to make. Enjoy and adios! Always plan ahead.
I Feel So Whiny Lately
You know what's sad? When you have an incredibly fantastic dinner but you start to feel sick right before the food is served. As you might already know if you've read my past entries, I recently had four wisdom teeth surgically removed from my head. I'm on some meds for swelling and infection fighting and stuff and they don't seem to be agreeing with my system today (trust me, it got pretty ugly there this afternoon.) I thought I was done feeling all gross but then dinner rolled around. My mom made this twice baked potato casserole....
I'm sorry but the fangirl inside me had to make an appearance. She's back in the cardboard box in my soul where she stays most of the time. Anywho, we had the twice baked potato casserole which is basically starch heaven. Not even joking. To go along with that we had watermelon, which I sadly couldn't eat, blue jello, and tuna cakes. As far as dinners go, that is one of the best ones I can ever imagine! To top it all off, my mom made me chocolate pudding in these fancy dishes, topped it with whipped cream, and put a fancy cut up strawberry as a little garnish! Not going to lie, my mom ate all of her pudding stuff in the time it took me to eat my strawberry. Chewing is freaking hard.
Moral of the story is to not let your parents make you fantastic foods when you feel very much like puking all over them. Don't get me wrong, I had seconds on just about everything but felt strangely dizzy through the whole meal. A word to the wise: don't let yourself grow wisdom teeth! Adios! Use your spoons every so often so they don't feel left out.

Coloring Is My Favorite
I'm really in the mood to color right now. It could be because I just had this super long conversation with a friend focusing on coloring books and movies and such. But nonetheless, I am in total need of a coloring book. I wish I had had the sense to save a few pages when I was little to color in once I got older! Not to say the things I created weren't total master pieces worthy of being colored on (even if they were a tad outside the lines) but a little foresight would've been handy for situations like now. Poor, naive little me.
Because I don't have any paper/coloring books handy and I'm too lazy to go get any drawing instruments I decided to stick to a tried and true method of digital coloring!

That's right folks! You're looking at a Nicole original. There's a big age gap between my sister and I so when I was little and hyper she was a high schooler and annoyed by me. When I would be bugging her she would open a paint document, swirl a black line across the page, hit the fill bucket tool, and let me have at it. It took me a little longer to complete the pictures back in those days but I had tons and tons of fun coloring it! You remember that next time you have a toddler breathing down your neck wanting some form of entertainment. Oh, and don't forget to answer my poll I put up over on the right hand side of your screen. Adios! Don't let toddlers breathe down your neck. That's creepy.

Ouch
I feel like such a shlub. I've had on pajamas for the past two days straight and will probably continue to do so for the rest of the week. Getting your wisdom teeth out sucks! I woke up this morning and my face is all swollen. And I'm finding this whole don't talk too much thing really hard. I have so many things to say! I also decided yesterday when my lower half of my face was numb that I wouldn't make a very good mute. My hand signalling is way out of practice. I've expended most of my day's energy writing this so I'll be going. Adios! Keyboards have many uses if you're creative.

Internet Shopping Sucks
Backpack shopping online is so hard! I see a backpack and I go "Oh, you're pretty!" but I can't tell from the picture if I'll be able to jam all the crap in there that needs to be jammed! And none of the ones I'm seeing are really speaking to me. It has to feel right in my soul. I mean this:
is a serious contender right now. But then it annoys me when I see people walking around with the really tiny backpacks thinking they're so cool that they have the ninja turtles on their back. Don't get me wrong, I love me some ninja turtles but not when they're impractically sized. I believe your backpack directly reflects who you are. If your backpack is a ripped up piece of crap then, well, make your own assumptions and I'll make mine. But I don't take backpack shopping lightly. Ah well, seems I'll be browsing the picked over Target back to school section once my mouth heals up. Adios! Don't remove your eyes from the clock when it's approaching 11:11.

I've Got Butterflies
I can't promise a post tomorrow because, unfortunately, I have some oral surgery planned. That's right, my wisdom teeth are getting popped out! Not popped out so much as brutally sliced out I guess but that's irrelevant. I'm actually super nervous about tomorrow. I've never had any surgery of any kind though I've been reassured it'll be fine time and time again. It's not that I'm worried something will go wrong (I have some faith in my oral surgeon) as much as I'm apprehensive about suddenly waking up with my face all swollen. Yay. I'll see if I can post something at midnight so it counts for tomorrow. In the mean time I'm going to go stew about my impending doom some more. Here's a picture of a kitten for you to look at in compensation for the time you spent reading this. Adios! Hope for no wisdom teeth as hard as you can.

Brave Times Two
I decided that I want a cool accent. This whole mid-western non-accent thing is getting kind of old. And I don't want a southern accent, I want something awesome. My best friend and I went to see Brave today, despite the fact that I've seen it once already, and that just reaffirmed my desire for a cooler accent. We were practicing our Scottish, it wasn't pretty! Did you know that they hide the Pizza Planet truck in most Pixar movies?
Yup, right there behind the candle thing. Just found that out today! Hoped I enlightened you a little bit. Adios! Simple sentences are boring. Don't use them.
I Saw the Dark Knight Rise!
Crap! Three minutes late! Oh well, I'll write two today. I got back a few minutes ago from seeing the Dark Knight Rises. I feel like I need to go watch the other movies over again because I was just sitting there going, "Woah...am I supposed to know who you are and why you're relevant? Stop talking so fast!" And I want to know how much damage has been done to Christian Bale's vocal chords! I know he's got to keep up the whole secret identity thing but he doesn't have to sound like a demon all the time. I wouldn't have minded if he'd switched to a soprano every once in a while. Just saying.
And Anne Hathaway? How much good do you think that little eye mask thing is doing in preserving your identity? "Oh, your temples are covered! I can't tell who you are at all!" Seriously. But I did appreciate how her goggles flipped up to make her cat ears. All in all I liked it. Not my favorite movie in the world or anything but I didn't hate it like so many others seem to. But that's just me and I'm not a massive Batman fan. Adios! No capes.

Food For Thought
I feel like life would be a whole lot easier if everyone just said what they thought. Like, someone could go up to another person and say, “You really get on my nerves.” And the other person would go, “Oh yeah, I was wondering about that the other day when you were glaring at me each time I said something.” And they’d both go about their day because that would be the social norm and you can’t please everyone. I think society would get on a lot better knowing what terms they were on with other people, less stress. Or there would be a heck of a lot more fights… Adios! Watch out for bats wearing capes.

It's So Mystical
Is that not fantastically pretty? That was a shot I took while on vacation in Gulf Shores earlier this month. And notice the 'x' in the clouds. Crazy, huh? It's a sign! There must be treasure buried down below it in the water somewhere! If only I'd seen that while taking the picture. Adios! Scarves are multi-functional.

Bring The Rain
Please, rain gods! Be merciful and bring us mid westerners some serious rain! All this yellow grass is seriously bumming me out. And my riding lesson tomorrow is going to be freaking hot. So please, if you could, spare us a little rain. I'll do a rain dance if that's what it takes! Adios! Don't discount the existence of the rain gods.

Movie Excitement
What is up with the exciting movie news lately? First I hear about the new Monsters Inc. movie coming out next year. Not gonna to lie, I had a major freak out when I heard the news. Then I see the trailer for it going to see Brave and a trailer for Wreck it Ralph which looks freaking amazing. Now I hear that they're making a second Finding Nemo and a fourth Toy Story! It's like Disney and Pixar are resurrecting my childhood right now!
Anyway, I've got a "fun" band music run through thing tonight. Yes, I am in band. Second chair flute player right here! With marching season coming up we obviously have to start practicing at least six weeks before school starts. You know, that's the only logical. -_- What? Bitter, me? Not at all. Adios! YouTube is your friend.

A Quick Lesson
To any French leaners out there here is one of the study sheets I made during finals last year. What can I say, I learn better in pictures. Hope you like it. Adios! The smelly markers, no matter the color, are always best.

Cooking with Kaley
I believe the best friends are the ones who bring you food without asking if you wanted food to begin with. My best friend Kaley comes over to my house today bearing a TYE DYE cupcake and a giant Dr. Pepper/Cherry slushie thing. I'd put up pictures but I kind of ate both before I got a chance to. (: But the cupcake was seriously impressive
It looked a little something like this only with blue icing (if you'd like to see the Pinterest page I got the pictures off of click here.) And considering it was Kaley who made it I was seriously impressed. She and I have not had the best of luck in our cooking endeavors. The first time we tried to make cupcakes we ended up putting soupy cake mix into the oven, waiting about five minutes, then having someone come by and suggest we just make cookies instead. The first time we made cookies solo I might've forgotten a cup of flour. Needless to say we ended up with the gosh darn best tasting cookie crackers this world has ever known! Since then we've had more cooking luck but not by much. Adios dear reader! Read directions with much care.

Early Start I Guess
Good morning internet! I hope you slept well. I'm actually up incredibly early given how I usually sleep in till around eleven-ish. Weird. I'm going to a wedding today, wearing a dress to said wedding, should be interesting. I just do not enjoy wearing dresses! There are so many things you can't do in them as opposed to wearing pants! Not to mention the strange breezes you get. I guess I'm just more of a jeans and T-shirt kind of girl.
Moving on, I found an incredibly helpful video that I thought I'd share last night. Spoiler alert, it blew my mind. I hope you like it and come away feeling like you've learned something. Adios! Checks are to be cashed or paid. Think about it.

First Post Yeah!
Well, I've finally decided to do it. I'm a starting a daily blog where I can come and...blog things daily. Or as close to daily as I can get with my busy schedule. It's just that during the school year I feel like I set writing way down as a priority and I want something that will keep me writing. I'm no stranger to blogging, I've had another one for a long time, but I just don't have the will to update it that much. Hopefully this will give me a little more gusto!
Anywho, for my first post I'll give you ten things about me to ponder until tomorrow. I promise I'll have something more interesting to read next time!
